A storage tank holds product, buffers between process steps, and keeps it at temperature. Nothing inside it moves — so the design question is not agitation but hygiene: whether the vessel drains completely, whether it can be cleaned properly, and whether the product is protected while it sits.
L&B builds storage tanks in 304 and 316L stainless steel, vertical or horizontal, in single-layer, insulated or heated versions, with flat, conical or dished heads. Cone bottoms are specified where complete discharge matters. Insulation is pearl wool, rock wool or polyurethane foam, and external surfaces are mirror polished, 2B matte or 2B brushed.
Standard fittings include a sanitary manhole, sight glass with light, thermometer, breather, CIP spray ball, anti-vortex baffle, and level indication by glass tube, hydrostatic, ultrasonic or RF capacitance sensor.
Food, dairy, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and fine chemical producers use them for raw material storage, buffer capacity and holding product at temperature before filling.
