Pulley Installation
1. Inspect the pulley grooves to ensure they are free of nicks or sharp edges, and that all dimensions comply with standard specifications.
2. Clean the surfaces of all components—including the pulley bore, tapered bushing, and bolt holes. Insert the tapered bushing into the pulley, ensuring that all bolt holes are aligned.
3. Apply oil to the bolts (for sizes TB 1008 through TB 3030) or threads (for sizes TB 3525 through TB 5050), then insert them into the mounting holes; do not tighten them fully at this stage.
4. Clean the surface of the drive shaft. Slide the pulley—with the tapered bushing already installed—onto the shaft to its designated position, and verify that the V-belt pulley is properly aligned.
5. If a keyway is utilized, the key must first be inserted into the shaft hub; a specific tolerance must be maintained between the key and the hub bore.
6. Using a hex wrench compliant with the DIN 911 standard, alternately and gradually tighten the bolts in the mounting holes in a uniform manner until the torque values specified in the table below are achieved.
7. After a brief period of operation (0.5 to 1 hour), check the tightening torque of the bolts and retighten them if necessary.
8. To prevent the ingress of foreign objects, fill the bolt holes with grease.
